Ruby’s experience spans 20 years across private and public sectors including blue chip FMCG and Local Government services – B2B and B2C.
At the centre of her approach are the needs of customers/clients and advocating the power of marketing as a strategic business process when aligned with organisational strategy and business planning cycles. This has returned national recognition, particularly within the public sector where Ruby adopts a results orientated style, supporting strategic business objectives, developing high performing teams and delivering award winning initiatives in a collaborative way.
A graduate of both Nottingham Universities, Ruby has maintained Chartered Marketer status since 1992 and contributed to consultancy projects locally and internationally through her MBA.
Ruby’s passion for marketing and enthusiasm to share her insights and collaborate has led to her extensive network and membership with professional bodies (locally, regionally and nationally) both within industry and through guest lecturing opportunities.
In addition to enjoying her busy and varied role as Head of Communications and Marketing at Nottingham City Council, Ruby makes time to contribute to the sector and the marketing profession as the Chair of the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Branch with a seat on the CIM East Midlands Regional Board, as national executive committee member with LGcommunications and a lecturer at the Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University.
